Caught Red-Handed

Look what I found when I walked in to the kitchen this morning...

Ethan had pushed a chair up to the counter, climbed up on the counter, and was then able to reach the treats that had been up on the fridge.

He was pretty proud of himself.

Elvis Lives!!!

To get the Fourth of July kicked off right, we enjoyed the day with the Simper family, and what better way to do it, right?

First we enjoyed a great day over at Jensen's Grove. The weather was amazing. The kids all had a great time hangin' out in the water and eating. I have never been there before and have now decided that it is a GREAT place to take the kids on a warm day. We are certainly going to have to visit more often.

Next it was off to the Fort Hall Reservation for an AWESOME Elvis impersonation concert. It was a great show! This was the kid's first concert, and what a blast! The reservation put the show on all for free along with free hot dogs and soda for dinner and followed up by a fantastic firework show. I have never been a die-hard Elvis fan, but I was suprised by how many Elvis songs I really did know. We had a great time, and ALL FREE - who can beat that? Waiting for the show to start. Totally diggin' the trailer in the background - AKA Elvis' back stage / dressing room.
And while we were waiting for the late "King of Rock And Roll", we had a blast jammin' out to the late "King of Pop"! Seriously, who can resist gettin' down when they hear a Micheal Jackson song!?!

The first half of the show featured young pre-war Elvis. Not too shabby, eh?

Second half of the show brought the young war-time Elvis out. Still lookin' good. ;)

Sarah getting into it with the crowd as she waved her glowing fan durring "Love Me Tender" How funny!

Ok, and this totally rocked! We had such a great time during the show that we jumped at the chance to get a picture with the guy - who wouldn't want a picture with Elvis, right? So as soon as we saw Elvis come out of his "dressing room", we chased him down. Debbi did an awesome job of getting us in to be one of the first ones in line for a picture. (You totally ROCK Debbi!!)
What a fun day! We missed those that couldn't be there, it would have been even more fun with you all there! Thanks for the great last minute ideas Debbi and Miriam, we couldn't have planned it any better!

Batter Up!!

Ryan and Jonathan are playing tee ball this summer. They have loved it! Ryan keeps telling me that it is his favorite sport. They play very well. It is very fun to watch them. Yesterday the boys had a game. Ryan and Jonathan were playing tee ball's version of a short-stop (several children standing in front of the pitcher's mound to catch the balls that come to them). Ryan stopped a grounder that came to him and then threw the ball to third base which got someone from the other team out. My favorite part of the whole game was watching Jonathan excitedly run over to Ryan, slap him a high-five tell him good job, and then run back over to his position. Just a sweet "Mommy Moment". I wish I had gotten that on camera... :) Taking a break in the dug out.
Ryan filling the position of Pitcher. (But they don't really need a pitcher :) )

Jonathan getting a runner out on first base. Good Job Jonathan!

Jonathan running into home base.

Ryan ready to run from second to third base.

Jonathan running to third.

Ryan up to bat. (This was a strike, but the next swing was a really great hit!)

Family Reunion

This past weekend I took the kids up to Green Canyon for our Powell reunion (my mom's side of the family). We had a great time! The weather was perfect, the food was excellent, and the pools were fantastic.

We had such a great time with all the family. Can't wait for next year!! Ethan getting ready to hit the open road with my Uncle Jack. We can all dream right Ethan?

The kids all playing games outside.

My Uncle Mike always comes up with the best games. This one happened to be Mouse Trap Jenga. A seriously sedistic but awesome game.... Hope your fingers are not the ones that make them all go off! ;) The kids all loved to watch this one.

Sleeping with all the cousins at Grandma and Grandpa Simper's.
