Because the shoes were far too muddy for Jonathan to be wearing around school, I got the call to come assist in the situation.
Jonathan was pretty cute standing there in bare feet. Heaven forbid he should leave his work undone. I waited for him to finish his assigment, then we packed up and headed out.
And off to Payless Shoes we went. It actually worked out pretty well. We were planning on getting the boys new shoes soon anyway, and they had been asking for new shoes for a while (Sarah got new shoes a couple weeks ago, and you know the chain of events that can set in motion...)
So all-in-all, a funny day with a happy ending. The kids certainly keep us laughing and remind us to enjoy the simple things.

That is just such a precious story. Kids are so funny! All that trouble to save a pair of shoes!
hey I'm with the kids, nothing's better then a new pair of shoes! and they made such good choices too! stylin'
What is it with kids and mud puddles? Every time the kids walk home someone happens to always push them in the mud puddles...go figure. What a fun time to get new shoes!!!! I love getting new shoes.
