Out With The Old, In With The New...

This is the couch that Chris's parents bought for us at a garage sale right before we got married. It has been a great couch - very comfortable and incredibly durable through the many moves we have put it through, as well as forgiving of the spills and tough play the children have put it through. The last time the children got sick there were some incidents that happened on this couch (involving both ends of the digestive system), and even with our Bissel carpet cleaner - there was no hope of reclaiming this couch. Our basement was beginning to take on the smell of a stinky diaper that had been thrown up on. NOT GOOD. We decided it had certainly served it's time.
So it was out with the old, in with the new! This puppy finally arrived this week - and we are LOVING IT!! The ends both recline - it is heaven! We were looking for a leather couch so that if the children happened to have anymore "Uh-Oh's" on the couch, all we would need is a wet rag and a couple of minutes to clean it all up (we have totally loved that about our upstairs furniture). We couldn't find any leather couches we were happy with, so we settled with this microfiber-ish couch and totally felt it was worth the extra $50.00 for the Scott's protective spray finish to help protect the couch better.

This is the leather rocking chair that Chris got me for Mother's Day right before the twins were born - which has now become the new "Sick Spot" for the children when they are not feelin' so hot. And yes, Jonathan made good use of it today after he had to be picked up early from school because of an upset tummy. Yep, all we need is a wet rag and a quick run through the washing machine to clean up any messes that may occur on this chair. Beautiful!
